Forget PETA - we've got bigger fish to put lipstick on!

Welcome to my blog!

Anyone who knows me knows that I have long abhorred the practice of anthropomorphizing food. Strangely, the same culture that believes in filleting and cellophane-wrapping meat so that the consumption of food is separated light years away from the actual raising, slaughtering and butchering is the same one that seeks to market processed food to people by making these edible objects smile, sing, dance and actually ask to be eaten.

Chickens, for some reason, lend themselves most readily to this paradox of cruelty, as this now-vintage Saturday Night Live sketch (featuring the late great Phil Hartman) parodies perfectly:

This video pretty much captures the spirit of this blog. Please leave your comments, and if you happen come across any unusual, funny or just plain creepy instances of anthropomorphized food, feel free to send them my way.

Yours in food indignity,
Rose
